The songs on this album were composed and recorded over a period of two years (2018-2019) by young musicians from four bands formed under the guidance of Music for Hope: Fuerza Tropical, Bryan y Sus Amigos, Impacto Musical, and Evolución Musical. They were recorded in the music centres in rural El Salvador, where Music for Hope operates, using the basic equipment we had available. In composing and recording these songs, the groups wanted to tap into Music for Hope's early traditions by creating songs that resonated with the the young people and their communities. They are, without doubt, songs with social significance and play an important tole in representing the concerns and artisitic expression of young people in the Bajo Lempa communities.
